Every Luxury LAP piece lists its own measurements on the product page. This guide is for working out your body size first, so you know which of ours to reach for.
How to measure yourself
Use a soft measuring tape. Measure over your underwear, not over clothes, and keep the tape snug but not tight.
- Bust — around the fullest part of your chest, tape level across your back.
- Waist — around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.
- Hip — around the fullest part of your hips, roughly 20 cm below the waist.
- Shoulder — from the edge of one shoulder straight across the back to the other.

Understanding One Size
Where a piece is cut generously or made in fabric that gives, we make it in One Size rather than pretending it comes in five. On those pages you will see a line like:
One Size | Recommended Fit: M–XL
That is not a guess. It means the piece has been cut and tested to sit well on anyone between those sizes. If your size from the table above falls inside the range, it will fit you.
Garment measurements vs body measurements
The table above describes your body. The bust, waist and length shown on each product page describe the garment laid flat. The two are deliberately different — a relaxed shirt will measure several inches wider than your body, and it is meant to.
The most accurate way to judge a piece is to take something you already own and love the fit of, lay it flat, measure it, and compare those numbers to ours. Allow a tolerance of up to half an inch, which is normal in hand-finished clothing.
Fit and stretch
- Slim Fit — close to the body.
- Regular Fit — skims without clinging.
- Relaxed Fit — easy through the body, room to move.
- Oversized — deliberately larger, meant to drape.
Stretch runs from No Stretch through Low and Medium to High Stretch. A high-stretch piece will forgive an inch or two either way; a no-stretch piece will not, so measure carefully.
Plus Size
Our Plus Size range is cut for the body rather than scaled up from a smaller pattern — the same fabrics and the same finish, drafted separately.
